Memphis, TN - John T. Ragland, Jr., 65, died Monday, June 29, 2009 at his home in Smithville. He was born to the late John, Sr. and Mary Ragland on January 22, 1944. He was a lifelong resident of Memphis. He was employed by The Commercial Appeal for nearly fifty years. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and spending time with his family and friends.Services will be 1 P.M. Thursday at Memphis Funeral Home - Poplar Chapel with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery. Lee Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.Survivors include his wife, Pamela Ragland of Memphis; four children, Sherry Ragland (Tommy) Flippo of Brewer, John T. (Freda) Ragland, III of West Memphis, AR, Peggy Ragland -Waddell (Hubert) and Daniel Ragland(Melissa) of Southaven; a special aunt, Kathleen (Aunt Kaky) Jones; 20 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Tim Phillips, Hubert Waddell, Tommy Flippo, Lamar Ward, Justin Segerson and John T. Ragland, IV.Visitation will be 5 - 8 Wednesday and 12 - 1 Thursday at Memphis Funeral Home - Poplar Chapel.
