John E. Crowder, 85, died Monday, October 13, 2014 at Sanctuary Hospice House. He was born June 23, 1929 in Forrest City, Arkansas to George Everette and Leone White Crowder. He was the owner and founder of Crowder Door and Glass Company. He enjoyed fishing, metal detecting, coin collecting and socializing with his friends. He was a Baptist and loved his family.
Services will be 2 PM Wednesday at Lee Memorial Funeral Home with Bro. Ronnie Hatfield and Bro. John Stevens officiating. Burial will be in Saltillo Cemetery. Lee Memorial Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Fannie Crowder of Saltillo; one son, George "Dinky" Crowder (Randy) of Saltillo; two sisters, Lillie Mae Thompson of Moore, OK and Joyce Sue Franklin of Memphis, TN; three grandchildren, Christopher Crowder (Misty), Bradley Crowder (Heidi) and Timothy Crowder; four great-grandchildren, Beth Crowder, Eli Crowder, Olivia Crowder and Chloe Crowder.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Manuel Everette Crowder; one brother, Willie Lee Crowder and one sister, Mable Lewis.
Pallbearers will be Christopher Crowder, Bradley Crowder, Timothy Crowder, Ron Brady, Tommy Crowder and Scottie Clark.
Visitation will be 5 - 8 Tuesday.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sanctuary Hospice House.
