ALGOMA - Joel T. Britt, 79, died Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2011, at his residence. He was born in the Randolph community on Nov. 6, 1931, to Joe T. and Victoria Holley Britt. He retired from the United States Air Force and served during the Korean War. He also retired from the United States government in quality control. He was a member of Hwy. 15 Church of Christ. He enjoyed riding on his tractor on his family farm and working in his yard. He loved his dog, Barney.

Private services will be held at a later date. Lee Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy Britt of Algoma; one son, Steven (Kay) Britt of Wareham, Mass.; two sisters, O.V. Tutor of Brookhaven and Evelyn Munlin of Stockton, Calif.; two grandchildren, Tommy Britt and Lisa Britt; numerous nieces and nephews; a special niece, Louise Britt Allred; a special friend, Leon Davis.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Joel T. Britt Jr.; and five brothers and six sisters.
