Obituary

BrewerJimmy Roberts, 72, died Tuesday, April 2, 2013, at Darlington Oaks after an extended illness. He was born April 8, 1940 to Dewey and Lula Prather Roberts. A graduate of Jericho High School, he served six years in the National Guard. He worked as a supervisor in the receiving department of Blue Bell Industries, retiring after 40 years of service. He was an avid bowler and also enjoyed playing cards, fishing, and spending time with his grandkids and great-grandson, Andrew.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the Brewer Baptist Church with Bro. Tim Tutor officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park. Lee Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include his wife of nearly 20 years, Jewel Roberts of Brewer; his daughter, Radonna Roberts and her fianc, Byron Ferguson; his stepsons and stepdaughters, Marty Pitts (Gale) of Guntown, Gail Powell (Merrill) of Ecru; Damon Sherman (Diane) of Lawrenceburg, TN, Summer Aldridge (Merrill) of Hernando, and Casey Henry (Sabira) of Houston, TX; five grandchildren, Jodi Moses (Christopher) of Tupelo, Nicole Nix of Smithville, Grant and Olivia Aldridge of Hernando, and Lily Henry of Houston, TX; his great-grandson, Andrew Moses; two sisters, Janie Bishop of Guntown and Francine Scott (George) of Baldwyn ; and one brother, Robert Roberts (Linda) of Baldwyn.

Pallbearers will be Chris Moses, Paul Kwasinski, Steve Whitten, Marty Pitts, Mike Ballard, and Casey Henry. Honorary Pallbearers will be James Parker and Gene Hallmark.

Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
