Martha Jean Stephens, age 88, passed away peacefully on March 13, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was born in Ripley on July 8, 1936, to Alford and Dora Ellis. She was the oldest of 9 children. She married the love of her life, Johnny Stephens, on June 9, 1956. Jean dedicated her life to Jehovah on October 8, 1960, and found great joy in sharing the good news of God's Kingdom with others and was a true friend to many. She will always be remembered for her unwavering faith, the love she had for her family and how she touched every person's life she came in contact with.

Services will be held at 5 PM Sunday at Lee Memorial Funeral Home with Bro. Leon Skipwith officiating and Bro. Thomas Payne delivering the Eulogy. Private family burial will follow in Lee Memorial Park. Lee Memorial Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.

She is survived by her children, Melissa (Lee) Capps, Diane Curtiss, Mark (Tina) Stephens, and David (Lynn) Stephens; 6 grandchildren, Amanda (Adrian) Robinson, Kimberly Jean (Johnathon) Scales, Savanna Armstrong, Stephen (Malaysia) Curtiss, Caleb (Kayle) Stephens, Collin Stephens (Callie Kendrick); 3 great-grandchildren, Eli Robinson, Cali Armstrong and John Lawson Stephens; her siblings, Carolyn Tucker, Linda (Lamar) Otts, Jerry (Patricia) Ellis and Billie Silver; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Johnny Stephens; her siblings, Jimmy Ellis, Judy Shurden, Cecil Ellis and Nancy Ellis.

Pallbearers will be Stephen Curtiss, Caleb Stephens, Collin Stephens, Eli Robinson, Jeremy Buchanan and Mark Olson.

Visitation will be 3 - 5 Sunday.
