Saltillo - Janetta Frances West, 75, died Sunday, February 23, 2014 at Sanctuary Hospice House after a lengthy illness. She was born July 25, 1938 to France B. Hill and Erin Smith Hill. She married Virgil West October 3, 1958. Together they founded Capital Bedding, Inc. in 1969. They were both active in the family business until he passed away July 11, 2003.
She was a faithful, lifelong member of Beech Springs Free Will Baptist Church where she served as pianist and Sunday School teacher for many years. In her later years she wasn't able to remember much, but she never forgot the words of the great hymns of faith. She also loved to spend time with her family who remember her as a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt. She was known for her big heart and loving spirit. Her smile lit up every person she touched.
Services will be 1 PM Thursday at Lee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Dennis Kizzire and Bro. Mike Jones officiating. Entombment will follow in Lee Memorial's Chapel of Faith Mausoleum. Lee Memorial Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
She is survived by one daughter, Betsy Moore (Doyle) of Saltillo; one son, Doug West of Saltillo; one sister, Patsy Anthony (Allen) of Pope, MS; her dear grandchildren, Nick Norris (Meghan), David Norris, Heather West- Smith (Jamie), Alex Norris, Chris West, Harrison West, Colt Moore and Hannah West; Her step-grandchildren, Blakley Moore, Zack Moore and Thad Lewis; Her great-grands, Dayton Estes, Cody Smith, Jamie Lee Smith and Laila West and her special nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother Gary Douglas Hill.
Pallbearers will be Nick Norris, David Norris, Alex Norris, Chris West, Harrison West, Colt Moore, Gary Waters and Mike Waters.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to Sanctuary Hospice House, the Alzheimer's Foundation or Beech Springs Free Will Baptist Church.
Visitation will be 5 - 8 Wednesday and 11:30 - 1 Thursday.
