Tupelo--Jack Clifford Nanney, 80, died December 19, 2011, at Sanctuary Hospice House after a brief illness. He was born November 29, 1931 in Kolola Springs to William Clarence Sr. and Vera Simmons Nanney. He was retired from Daybrite after 46b years off service. he was a faithful member of Monument Drive Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and Sunday School Teacher. He enjoyed playing games and eating out with friends. He loved his family and serving his church.
Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Lee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Tim Roaten and Bro. Tommy Tackett officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Tupelo Memorial Park.
Survivors include one daughter, Kathy Peters of Tupelo; two sons, David Nanney (Mary) of Shannon and Steve Nanney (Jennifer) of Endville; two brothers, W.C. Nanney, Jr. (Lydia) of Fairhope, Ala. and Robert Wayne Nanney (Jane) of Tampa, Fla.; one brother-in-law, Bob Harrelson (Dot) of Tupelo; one sister-in-law, Frances Buskirk of Tupelo; ten grandchildren, Connie Credille (Jeff), Sonya Owens, Dave Nanney, Jay Nanney (Robin), Laura Nanney, Michael Nanney, Abram Nanney, Rachel Nanney, Hope Nanney, and Will Nanney; two step-grandchildren, Brittany Evans and Michael Evans; four great-grandchildren, Isaiah Sheffield, Ava Credille, Ella Credille, and Hunter Nanney; one step-great-grandson, Vincent Kilbourne; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Geraldine Nanney and one brother, James Lamar Nanney.
Pallbearers will be Dave Nanney, Jay Nanney, Michael Nanney, Abram Nanney, Jeff Credille and Martin Blaylock. Honorary Pallbearers will be the deacons of Monument Drive Baptist Church.
Memorials may be made to Monument Drive Baptist Church.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and 12 to 1 p.m. Wednesday.
