OKOLONA - Huey Leon "Leedie" Lamb, 70, died Sunday, March 20, 2011, at his home after a lengthy illness. He was born Oct. 20, 1940, in Pontocola to Hoyle and Minnie Lamb. He was a longtime truck driver, most recently with Ethridge Trucking. He was a Baptist. He enjoyed playing dominoes, camping, gardening and fishing. He loved his family and spending time with his grandkids.
Services were held Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at Lee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Danny Rushing officiating. Burial was in Lee Memorial Park.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Betty Lamb of Okolona; three daughters, Cindy Lamb of Okolona, Michelle (Patrick) Mason of Shannon and Janice Lamb of Verona; two sons, Barry (Vickie) Lamb of Dorsey and Gary (Melinda) Lamb of Trebloc; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Herman Lamb and Fred Lamb; and one sister, Annabelle Bramlett.
Pallbearers were Joseph Kennedy, Daniel Lamb, Shane Mason, Chad Mason, Jason Mason, John Ivy, Don Hand and Shawn Roberts.
Honorary pallbearers were Fred Allen Lamb Jr., Robert Lamb, Andrew Lamb and Brooks Watkins.
