Obituary

Hoyt Wayne Thomas, 83, passed away Friday, May 5, 2023 at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo after a lengthy illness.  He was born January 15, 1940 to James Monroe Thomas and Beatrice Sanders Thomas. He was a member of The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses Tupelo North Congregation. He loved to serve Jehovah especially in the door to door ministry. He served in the US Army. As a hobby he worked on lawn mowers for his friends and neighbors. He loved his family and especially his two grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Evelyn Thomas of Guntown; two children, Micah Thomas of Guntown and Tracie Donner (Brian) of Saltillo; two grandchildren, Keira Donner and Greyson Donner; five sisters, Evelyn Stone, Jewel Dean Mays (Bill), Bernice "Murdie" Brown, Sue Young, and Wanda Williams (Charles); two brothers, David Thomas (Carol) and Larry Thomas (Leigh); and a host of nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Billy Thomas, James Thomas, and Hubert Earl Thomas; three brothers-in-law, Charles Stone, Larry Brown, and Jackie Young.

Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm  Saturday, May 13, 2023 at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses Tupelo North Congregation with the memorial service following at 3:00 pm with Bro. Leon Skipwith officiating. Lee Memorial Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
