Shannon - Herman Savage, 74, went to be with the Lord Friday, January 29, 2010 at the North Mississippi Medical Center after a lengthy illness. He was born January 1, 1936 to Clarence and Mildred Savage. He was a retired mechanic who still loved to tinker with his tools. He was a loving husband, father, uncle, papaw and brother. He had a big heart and enjoyed life. He loved his tools, tool shed, going to Wal Mart, Big Lots and Harbor Freight Tools. He also enjoyed going to Kelly's Grocery, the flea market for an ice cream cone, fishing and visiting people. He will always be remembered and deeply missed.Services will be 2 PM Tuesday at Lee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Gary Roberson officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park.Survivors include his wife and love of his life, Minnie Ruth Savage of Shannon; three loving daughters, Vickie Phillips Weaver (Jerry) of Palmetto, Kathy Lynn Savage of North Carolina and Barbara Ruth Keith (Tim) of Palmetto; eight grandchildren, Amy Yeager (Lance), Tanya Cox (Jason), Danny Yeager (Katherine), Krissy (Shaye-Shaye) Westmoreland (Bill), David Phillips, Jr., Amanda Parker (Scottie), Timothy Keith (Mandy) and Brandon Parker (Erin); fourteen great-grandchildren, Kourtney Fooshee, Kayla Wages, Tristan Fooshee, Zak Keith, Blake Wages, Bradey Westmoreland, Hannah Wingate, Angela Parker, Keileigh Westmoreland, Harlie Keith, Scottie Wingate, Jr., Emily Parker, Kenzie Westmoreland and Joseph Parker, Jr.; four sisters, Vernell Evans, Weez Duvall, May Staten and Jean Wagner; many nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents, his loving son Michael Thurman Savage; his brothers, Thurman Savage, Sonny Savage and Billy Joe Savage; his sisters, Lorene Jones, Pauline Shepard and Janie Sue Savage.Pallbearers will be Tim Keith, Timothy Keith, Bill Westmoreland, David Phillips, Brandon Parker and Danny Yeager. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jerry Weaver, Jason Cox, Lance Hester, Scottie Wingate, Billy Savage and Britt Savage.Visitation will be 5 - 8 Monday.
