Helen Tinsley passed away from natural causes at her nursing residence in Memphis, TN on June 18, 2018. Born July 19, 1922, in Pontotoc, MS, she also was a longtime resident of Amory and Tupelo.  After graduation from Pontotoc High School, she attended the University of Memphis (formerly Memphis A& M College).  Her gift in life was working with children.  She worked in the nursery at Lawndale Presbyterian Church in Tupelo for many years and retired from the nursery at Bellevue Baptist Church in Memphis at the age of 80.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Fred, her parents, George and Mattie Bennett of Tupelo, and her sister, Erma Newell of Pontotoc. She is survived by her son, Gene, of Tupelo, her son Tim, of Memphis and her daughters, Dianne Prickett (Larry) of Sarasota, FL and Janet Barski (Don) of Park City, UT.  She is also survived by her sister, Joan Maynard (Bob) of Tupelo; two grandsons, John Heidel of Sandy Hook, VA and Jeff Heidel of Olmstead Falls, OH; two great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

A private service was held with burial at Lee Memorial Park. Lee Memorial Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.  For online guest registry visit www.leememorianonline.com .
