Saltillo - Helen Marie Stanford, 89, died Friday, November 06, 2009 at her home after a brief illness. She was born September 5, 1920 in Lee County to William and Ruth Smith. She was a longtime resident of Saltillo, a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ. She enjoyed playing games and attending family gatherings.Services will be 2 PM Sunday at Lee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jim Allen officiating. Burial will be in Mayfield Cemetery.Survivors include two daughters, Betty Witcher and Nada Brazil both of Saltillo; 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 68 years, Ervin Stanford; four grandchildren, Randy Witcher, Stan Witcher, Belinda Funderburk and Danny Deaton; four brothers, James Smith, Charles Smith, Troy Smith and Hubert "Smitty" Smith; one sister, Zelma Stanford.Pallbearers will be Ricky Witcher, Robby Witcher, Rusty Witcher, Zackery Witcher, David Brazil and George Gale.
