Oxford—Hansel Rogers Sr., 95, went to be with the Lord on May 9, 2018 where he lived at the Mississippi Veterans Home in Oxford, MS.  He was a member of Balmoral Baptist Church in Memphis, TN.  He served in the United States Navy in the European Theatre and the North Atlantic.

A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at Balmoral Baptist Church, 2676 Kirby Rd., Memphis TN 38119 with Bro. Albert Wilkerson and Bro. John Yarbrough officiating.  Graveside services will be at Lee Memorial Park, 5257 Raymond Ave, Tupelo MS 38801.  Lee Memorial Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.

Hansel is survived by 3 daughters, Bonnie Sue, Linda, and Jan; his daughter-in-law, Nora; four nieces; a nephew; several grandchildren, and a host of friends including Scottye Davidson who was like a sister to him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Hansel Rogers Jr.; 2 brothers, Harold and Glen; and his sister, Jan.

Hansel has requested that in lieu of flowers, memorials be sent to Balmoral Baptist Church; Mississippi State Veterans Home, 120 Veterans Dr., Oxford MS 38655; or Home Care Hospice, 301 Hwy 30 W., New Albany, MS 38652.
