Gwyn Wilson Whitaker, 95, passed away Saturday, February 17, 2024 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.  He was born January 10, 1929 to Russell Barlow Whitaker and Bonnie Clayton Whitaker. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of the American Legion. He was a member of Mt. Vernon Christian Church. He enjoyed fishing, automobiles, and car racing.

He is survived by two children, Perry Whitaker (Patsy) and Sherry Hill (Richard) both of Tupelo and three grandchildren, Courtney Gray, Ashley Gray, and Harrison Whitaker.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Whitaker and his parents.

Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Sunday, February 18, 2024 at Lee Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be at 12:00 pm Monday, February 19, 2024 at Lee Memorial Funeral Home with Bro. Brian Collier officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Monday. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Harrison Whitaker, Richard Hill, Adam Hill, Benton Hill, Jeff Wade, and Danny Stanford.
