Grace Campbell Fabris (ne Smith) died peacefully at Rosewood Residence on December 5, 2014 in Tupelo, MS at the age of 91.
Grace is survived by her husband of 70 years, John; children, Karen Grace Marks of Mayfield Heights, OH. and Jane Anne Aggers of Tupelo, MS; grandchildren, Brian Marks (Heather) of Raleigh, NC, Betsy Smith (Brian) of Paris, France, Meredith O'Brien (Patrick) of Columbus, OH and Katie Gottlieb (Seth) of Beachwood, OH; and great grandchildren, Savannah Sada Marks and Patrick Kane O'Brien, Jr. Grace is preceded in death by her parents Sada Mildred (Wolf) and Harry Ford Smith of Rochester, OH.
Grace was born on July 10, 1923 in Cleveland, OH to Sada and Harry Smith. She graduated from West Tech High School in 1941 with a secretarial degree and used that degree to become an Office Manager at Liberty Mutual Insurance Company. Grace married John, her high school sweetheart in 1944. Over their 70 year marriage, Grace and John lived in fifteen cities within ten states, including Active Duty Service locations during WWII and the Korean Conflict, when John served our county as a Marine Pilot. Grace and John moved to Tupelo, MS in 2006 and truly enjoyed being in the South. She loved being called "Miss Grace," by southern neighbors and friends.
Grace was a dedicated wife, mother and proud grandmother, who loved to travel, make Christmas cookies, read and square dance. She was a guiding light to her husband, children and grandchildren and will always be remembered for her honest assessment of every situation. She is the voice in every member of the family's head. Grace was also very organized and precise. Both her daughters were born at 9:32 AM (three years apart) and Grace passed away at 9:32 AM.
