Verona - Gerald Oliver, 56, died Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at the North Mississippi Medical Center after a brief illness. He was a lifelong Lee Countian, born November 14, 1952 to Frank and Mattie Oliver. He was employed with Bearing & Supply of Tupelo for 30 years involved in inside and outside sales. He was the former owner of Studio One Photography and worked with Terry Wood Photography. He was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church-Verona. He attended Verona Jr. High School, a graduate of Tupelo High School and attended ICC and Mississippi State University.. He served as a board member and coach of Verona Summer Youth Baseball League and was involved with Tiger Scouts, Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts in various positions. He loved Mississippi State football and his family, especially his grandchildren.Services will be 2 P.M. Saturday at Lee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. David Hamilton officiating and Mr. Jeff Young delivering the eulogy. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park.Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Donna Oliver of Verona; one daughter, Chastity Barker Oliver of Corinth; one son, Christopher Michael Oliver of South Lake Tahoe, CA; two grandchildren, Dalton Barker and Madelyn Barker both of Corinth; four sisters-in-law, Annette (Tony) Tuchton of Verona, Jeanette (Bob) Pacovsky of Booneville, Debbie Akers of Houston and Robin Fields of Jackson; several nieces, nephews and cousins.He was preceded in death by his parents and his special aunt Dottie Warren.Pallbearers will be Donny McKnight, Mickey McKnight, Deral McKnight, Joey McKnight, Tony Tuchton and Bobby Pacovsky. Honorary Pallbearers will be Rusty Curry, Danny Dorman and employees of Bearing & Supply of Tupelo.Visitation will be 5 - 8 Friday and 12 - 2 Saturday.
