Obituary

Fulton - Gary Delance Blagg, 59, died Sunday, January 24, 2010 at the North Mississippi Medical Center after a brief illness. He was born July 16, 1950 in Pontotoc. He was a graduate of Kingsbury High School in Memphis, TN, Mississippi State University and the University of Mississippi. He was a Vietnam Veteran serving in the United States Navy and also served in the National Guard. He was a 6th grade science teacher and coach in Nettleton and a K-12 Guidance Counselor and Coach in Grady, AR. He was a member of the Tupelo Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and a member of Mississippi Parents of Blind Children and National Federation for the Blind. He was an avid storyteller and enjoyed Genealogy and riding his Harley.A Memorial Service will be 1 PM Thursday at Lee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Gene Voyles officiating.Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Cummings Blagg of Fulton; two daughters, Misty Blagg (Billy Bossier) of Austin, TX and Storm Mackey (David Phillip) of Fulton; three sons, Garan deLance Blagg (Simone Ciccel) of Pine Bluff, AR, Steven Blagg (Aphilak) of Saltillo and Marcel McGill of Kansas; his father James Douglas Blagg (Sue) of Arizona; his mother Lavenia McDonald (Eurie) of Pontotoc; one brother James Douglas Blagg (Oneida) of Boston, MA; six grandchildren, Caelan Blagg, Snow Mackey, Hail Mackey, Antonio Blagg, Raven Blagg and Harley Blagg.He was preceded in death by two grandsons Thunder Mackey and A. J. Robinson.Visitation will be 11 AM - service time Thursday.
