TupeloFreddie Cruse Walker, 77, passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2015, at her home after a brief illness. She was born August 12, 1937 in Pontotoc to Fred and Prudell Owens Cruse. She married Albert Lamar Walker in 1954 and spent her life as a homemaker, taking care of the family she so dearly loved. She enjoyed cooking for her family and spending time with friends, especially her grandchildren. She was a member of Verona's First Baptist Church.
Services will be 2 pm Thursday at the Lee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. David Hamilton officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park. Lee Memorial Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
She leaves behind 4 children, Kay Wells, Tammy Malone (Steve) all of Saltillo, Jeffrey Walker (Beth) of Tupelo, and Rodney Walker (Kandy) of Saltillo; her sister, Neva Nash of La Mesa, CA; her brother, James Cruse (Alice) of Pontotoc; 9 grandchildren, Morgan Taylor (Josh), Tyler Kidd, Katy Walker, Drew Walker, Josh Walker, Ashlie Orsborn, Jason Malone (Cheryl), Zach Malone, and Matt Malone (Mallory); 5 great-grandchildren, Jordyn, Jaxon, Hanna, Br, and Isaac; and special friends, Ann Gillentine, Rosa Wells, Earnestine Lindley, and Janice Walker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 44 years, Albert Lamar Walker, and 8 brothers and sisters.
Pallbearers will be nephews Jimmy Cruse, Neal Cruse, Randy Cruse, Jerry McCoy, Keith Huey and Tony Cruse. Al Gillentine and her remaining nephews will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Visitation will be 5-8 pm Wednesday and noon to service time on Thursday.
