Freda Brooks Koon, 77, died Thursday, June 28, 2018, at Sanctuary Hospice House. She was born in Booneville on March 22, 1941 to Clovis and Fairlen Mason Brooks. She graduated from Jumpertown High School. She was a homemaker and a longtime member of Wesley United Methodist Church. She worked for Olympic Products for many years and retired from Tupelo Fiber after 17 years. She enjoyed doing crafts and crocheting.  She enjoyed visiting her children and grandchildren in Seattle and San Francisco.

Services will be 3 PM Monday, July 2, 2018, at Wesley United Methodist Church with Rev. Roger Puhr officiating. Private burial will be in Lee Memorial Park. Lee Memorial Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.

She is survived by her husband, David Koon, Jr. of Tupelo; two sons, David Lee Koon of San Francisco, CA and Jackie Dale Knox (Christi) of Seattle, WA; three grandchildren, Presley Knox, Maxwell Knox and Waverly Knox; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, James Lee Brooks; a sister, Evelyn Bridges and her husband, W.C.; a niece, Elaine Cole and a great-nephew, Wesley Bridges.

Pallbearers will be Dale Dobbs, Jimmy Langley, Robert Chaney, David Hutson, Sonny Turner, Morris McCain, Raymond Webb and Dewayne Card. Honorary Pallbearers will be the members of the Good News Sunday School Class.

Memorials may be made to the Wesley United Methodist Church Building Fund, Sanctuary Hospice House or to the charity of your choice.

Visitation will be 1 – 3 Monday at the church
