PalmettoFranklin R. Hill, 80, passed away Sunday, April 19, 2015, at the Meadows in Fulton after a brief illness. He was born September 4, 1934 in Pontotoc, the son of James R. and Jettie Barber Hill and was a lifelong resident of Lee County. From 1957 -1959, he served his country in the US Army. He worked as a saw operator at E.R. Carpenter Manufacturing. He was a member of the Verona Christian Church. A talented artist and musician, he enjoyed country music and dancing.
Services will be 11 am Thursday at the Lee Memorial Chapel with Rev. James Marks officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Lee Memorial Park. Lee Memorial Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
He is survived by his 2 daughters, Darla Anderson (Bruce) of Birmingham and Gail Moon (Jeff) of Shannon; 2 sisters, Elizabeth Williams of Tupelo and Ruby of New Albany; 7 grandchildren, Brandon Lambert, Blake Anderson, Dalton Anderson, Kayla Anderson, Brooke Betts (Jonathan), Ambere Ginn (Andrew), and Carlie Moon; and 2 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Helen Kelly, and a brother Charles Hill.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Lambert, Dalton Anderson, Andrew Ginn, and Jonathan Betts.
Visitation will be 5-8 Wednesday.
