Frances Murphy, 76, passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at the North MS Medical Center. She was born December 23, 1939 in Gunnison, MS to Evans and Susie Redden. Frances was a hard worker and served in many jobs during her working career, but her greatest joy was taking care of her family and spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed painting by number and played softball in her younger days.

Services will be 1 pm Saturday at Lee Memorial Funeral Home with Dr. Phillip C. Ellis officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park. Lee Memorial Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.

She is survived by her husband, William B. Murphy Sr. of Tupelo; her children, Janet Spitler (David), Brenda Rhynes, and William B. Murphy Jr.; her sisters, Margie Hamblin (Charles), Debbie F. Tarwaters; her brothers, Lee A. Redden (Elaine), John Wayne Redden (Ruth), Jerry Redden (Sara), Billy R. Redden (Barbara), and Roger Redden (Edith); 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Betty J. Hall and 2 brothers, James E. Redden and Danny C. Redden

Pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Mike Fager, David Rhynes Jr., Noah Murphy, Shawna Robertson, Scott Parker, and Bradley Spitler. Her granddaughter, Summer Faith Murphy will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Friday.
