Fay Waddle Harris, 71, went home peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, March 17, 2015, surrounded by her family. She was born March 14, 1944 to John and Madi Presley Hayes. After graduating from Tremont High School, she attended cosmetology school and began her business career. She owned and operated Fay's Beauty Salon for many years. She was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Verona where she faithfully served the Lord teaching Mission Friends and Sunday School. Recently, she attended Faith Baptist Church in Saltillo. She was a loving, devoted mother and grandmother. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and spending time with her family and many friends.
Services will be 2 pm Thursday at the Lee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. David Hamilton and Dr. Rex Yancey officiating. Burial will follow in Lee Memorial Park.
She is survived by her 3 children, Shelia Easter of Memphis, Anita Cannon (Craig) of Tupelo, and Chris Waddle (Michelle) of Shannon; 2 sisters, Dorothy Green of Tupelo and Laverne Kennedy of Fulton; 3 brothers, Junior Hayes (Shirley), Ferrell Hayes (Linda), and Leon Hayes, all of Fulton; and 2 granddaughters, Chelsea Martin (Charles) of Jackson and Catherine Cannon of Tupelo; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 sisters, Pauline Altom and Mary Heatherly; and a brother, Bobby Hayes.
Pallbearers will be John Robert Bishop, Kenny Wooldridge, Marty Hayes, Tim Hayes, Jason Kennedy, Greg Hayes, Mike Altom and Brian Hayes. Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Green and Dewayne Heatherly.
