Obituary

Fannie Lou Pickering Crowder, 94, passed away Saturday, July 25, 2026, at Magnolia Manor Assisted Living. She was born September 20, 1931, to Erskin Mitchell Pickering and Dovie May Mask Pickering in Pontotoc County. She enjoyed sewing including all types of clothing, quilts, stuffed animals, dolls, and even upholstery. She also enjoyed gardening and canning.

She is survived by her son, George Wayne “Dinky” Crowder (Randy); three grandchildren, Chris Crowder (Misty), Brad Crowder (Heidi), and Timothy Crowder; six great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and sister, Betty Rose Kozlowitz (Robert).

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Edgar Crowder; son, Manual Everett Crowder; parents; brothers, Zorus Pickering and Travis Pickering; and sisters, Jewel Morris and Cortez White.

Funeral service will be at 2:00 pm Friday, July 31, 2026, at Lee Memorial Funeral Home with Dr. Danny Boudreaux officiating. Burial will be in Saltillo City Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Chris Crowder, Brad Crowder, Timothy Crowder, Eli Crowder, Mark Stevens, and Scottie Clark.
