Tupelo - Evelyn Everitt, 88, died Saturday, November 21, 2009 at her home after a lengthy illness. She was born August 15, 1921 to the late Arthur and Eva Harrell in Quitman. She married William Frederick Everitt, Jr. on February 24, 1942. She was a graduate of Quitman High School and attended the Mississippi University for Women. She was a longtime secretary and a member of the Methodist Church. She enjoyed cooking, playing the piano and taking care of her family.Services will be 2 PM Monday November 23 at Lee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Cecil Pumphrey officiating. Entombment will be in the Chapel of Faith Mausoleum in Lee Memorial Park.Survivors include her husband of 67 years, William Frederick Everitt, Jr. of Tupelo; two sons, Dr. William F. (Freda) Everitt, III of Tupelo and Arthur Lee (Kathy) Everitt of Iuka; two grandchildren, Jessica Leigh Everitt and William F. (Eric) Everitt, IV both of Tupelo; one sister, Flora Alice (Ralph) Shultz of Tupelo.Pallbearers will be Dr. William F. Everitt, III, Arthur Lee Everitt, David Pumphrey, Tim Clouse, Donathan Enlow and Tony Ford.Visitation will be 12 - 2 Monday.
