IukaEugene Sandlin Jr., 88, passed away at his daughter's home in Iuka after a brief illness. He was born March 13, 1927 in Luxora, AR, the son of Eugene and Susane Blanche Tucker Sandlin. He served his country in the United States Army during World War II and was retired from ACS Industries of Carter Carburetor in St. Louis, MO where he worked for 39 years. Gene was a member of Guntown Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, driving his grandchildren on his ATV on country roads and through the woods, but most of all, he loved spending time with his family.
Services will be 11:30 AM Saturday at the Lee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park. Visitation will be 9:30 AM to service time.
He is survived by two daughters, Brenda K. Roth and Glenda F. Mitchell; his son, Ronald G. Sandlin; 8 grandchildren, 23 Great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jimmie Lee Sandlin; and a sister, Marianna Moore
