Furrs--Ethel Lounetta "Jackie" Cooper, 86, died Friday, December 30, 2011, at the North Mississippi Medical Center after a brief illness. She was born June 16, 1925 in Brewer to Gurley and Lonie Bell West. She was a homemaker and a seamstress at Reed Manufacturing. She was a longtime member of Furrs Baptist Church. She enjoyed piecing quilts, boat riding, and going out to eat She loved her family and going to church when she was able.
Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Lee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Walter Simmons officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park.
Survivors include her son Gerald Cooper (Bobbie) of Ecru; one sister, Hilda Sullivan of Evergreen; three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert L. Cooper; two brothers, Clovis West and Ferrell West; three sisters, Gertie Bell Shumpert, Flora Dale Poyner and Sybil Patterson Hall.]
Pallbearers will be Carl Patterson Gurley Poyner, David Poyner, Zack Sims, Paul White and Johnny Bowen. Honorary Pallbearers will be Sonny White and Andrew White.
