Nettleton - Earl C. Scott, Jr., 79, died Friday, October 16, 2009 at his residence. He was born in Belden on December 19, 1929 to Earl and Mollie Scott. He was a personnel officer in the United States Navy, earning the rank of Lieutant and retiring October 1, 1973. He served 25 ½ years and was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Nettleton. He was married to his dearest wife, Mollie, for 54 years. He enjoyed fishing, rod and reel repair, hunting and music.Services will be 2 PM Monday at Lee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Donald Pounders officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park with Military Honors.Survivors include two daughters, Karen Amon and husband, George and Deborah Lopez Olivera; two sisters, Linda Hall and Sharon Rae and husband, Randy; three grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two brothers, Roy Scott and Johnny Scott.Visitation will be 12 - 2 Monday.
