Obituary

TupeloWilliam Douglas "Doug" Eaton, 70, died Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at the North Mississippi Medical Center after an extended illness. He was born in Okolona on May 13, 1943 to Cleo and Christine Brent Eaton. A US Marine Corp Veteran of Vietnam, he served for 20 years, retiring in 1981. He achieved the rank of Master Sergeant. After his military service, he worked as a foreman for Cooper Tire retiring in 1999. He enjoyed working on old cars and visiting with his VFW buddies on Friday nights. He was a member of VFW Post 5395 in Pontotoc.
Services will be 2 pm Saturday at the Lee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Burial with military honors will follow in Lee Memorial Park.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Satsuko Nago Eaton; two sons, Gary Eaton and Dan Nago (Trish), all of St. Louis; close family friend, Daniel Wells of Pontotoc; his mother, Christine Eaton of Houston; and two brothers, Pete Eaton (Donna) of Pontotoc and Charles Eaton (Kathy) of North Carolina
He was preceded in death by his father and a sister, Betty.
Pallbearers will be Daniel Wells, Austin Wells, Lucas Wells, Chris Eaton, Billy Langford and Dan Nago.
Visitation will be 1 pm to service time Saturday.
