Tupelo - Dorothy Morris, 82, died Friday, March 02, 2012 at St. Francis Hospital in Memphis, TN after a lengthy illness. She was born January 8, 1930 in Pontotoc to William Luster and Thursie Mae Franklin. She was a member of Cornerstone Methodist Church, Mississippi Counsel for the Blind and Verona Senior Citizens Club. She worked for Wal-Mart for many years in the bakery and as a greeter. She enjoyed traveling, especially cruises and loved spending time with her family and friends.
A memorial service will be held 11 AM Wednesday at Lee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James Richardson and Rev. Ginger Holland officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park.
Survivors include one daughter, Liesa Baldwyn (Michael Blackburn) of Red Bay, AL; three sons, Jimmy Morris of Tuscaloosa, AL, Larry Morris (Paula) of Southhaven and Donnie Morris of Tupelo; one sister, Joann Lowe (Cecil) of Pearl; nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert Morris, Sr.; one son, Robert Morris, Jr.; one granddaughter, Amy Michelle Baldwyn and a sister, Jean Sartain.
Honorary Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cornerstone Methodist Church.
Visitation will be 10 - 11 Wednesday at the funeral home and following the services at Cornerstone Methodist Church.
