Verona - Dora Carr, 93, died Saturday, July 6, 2013 at Darlington Oaks Hospice. She was born in Lee County on December 19, 1919 to Elbert Curtis and Mattie Sue Deason. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Plantersville and the Verona Lioness Club. She traveled extensively with her husband and family during his military career. She enjoyed gardening, watching and feeding her birds and was an avid bowler, bowling with the Ladies Monday Night League.

Services will be 11 AM Tuesday with Bro. Jesse Betts and Bro. David Westmoreland officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park. Lee Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include her daughter, Lora Carr of Verona; one grandson, Matthew Carr of Mooreville; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Chester C. Carr; one son, Jack Craig Carr; her siblings, Donna York, Evie Mallard, Louise Gillentine, Elbert Deason and Frances Conwill.

Visitation will be 9:30 AM - 11:00 AM Tuesday.
