Obituary

Donald E. (Don) Gadow, Sr. passed away on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Don was born July 19, 1939 in Maryland to Leonard and Laura Katherine Gadow. He was employed in the furniture industry for many years working as an engineer at Futorian and a purchasing agent for Action. He worked in Financials and Securities for PriAmerica, a coordinator for MS Furniture Market and the Electric Department for the City of Okolona.

Shortly after high school, Don joined the United States Coast Guard and served his country. He soon married the love of his life, Glynda and together they raised their two children, Donnie and Gayle. Don was a devoted husband, father and papaw. He had been told by many in recent years that he had been an amazing role model while working with the youth at Okolona Christian Church along with coaching girls softball.

Don was a member of Common Ground Christian Church and served as an Elder and Trustee of the church for many years. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, along with professional and college football. Don was avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt, fish, and most of all being outside on his tractor bush-hogging, spreading dirt and working for the public. His joking personality, calm demeanor, and positive teaching skills was something that drew those of all ages to him. Don never met a stranger and along with Glynda, loved to square dance.
