Danny Steele, 61, died Saturday, April 2, 2011. He was born October 23, 1949, in Pontotoc County to Hannon and Ottis Steele. He was a 1967 graduate of East Union High School and a Vietnam War veteran serving in the United States Army. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed spending time at the lake, fishing, hunting and camping. He enjoyed playing the guitar, reading and writing.

Graveside services were held Friday, April 8, at Endville Cemetery with Bro. James Steele officiating. Lee Memorial Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include five daughters, Christina (Mark) Weaver, Teresa (Anthony) Knight, Jessica Adams, Stephanie (Jimmy) Powers all of Tupelo, and Medina (Max) Sosa of Ripley; his mother, Ottis Steele of Ripley; and 14 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father; two brothers, Travis Steele and Sammy Lee Steele; and one nephew, Tim Steele.

Honorary pallbearers were Chris Adams, Jason Clay, Alton "Beaver" Lessel, Judd Lessel, Phil Sparks and Dwight Thomason.
