Saltillo - Mr. Charlie Putt, 78, passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2009 at the North Mississippi Medical Center after a lengthy illness. He was born to Edgar and Bessie Willis Putt in Baldwyn on April 17, 1931. He loved to fish, spend time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and enjoyed gardening. He was a member of Northeast Church of Christ.Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Lee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jim Allen officiating and Bro. Earl Mitchell assisting. Burial will be in the Garden of the Resurrection at Lee Memorial Park.Survivors include one daughter, Linda Young (Steve) of Tupelo; one son, Larry Putt of Tupelo; one sister, Evelyn Cooper (Harliss) of St. Loius, MO; two grandchildren, Jennifer Pearson (Ryan) and Angela Owen; and three great-grandchildren, Carson Owen, Corbin Owen and Gabrielle Pearson. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Bobbye Nell Putt; four brothers, Milton Putt, Robert Putt, Clifford Putt and Walter Putt.Pallbearers will be Jackie Clayton, Butch Simmons, Buck Wooldridge, Kelly Mims, Terry Dearman and Tim Smith.
