New Albany - Charles S. Wright, Sr., 78, died Friday, February 5, 2010 at the North Mississippi Medical Center after a extended illness. He was born March 16, 1931 to Maynard and Vola Rhea Heflin Wright. He was a retired business owner. He was a devoted member of the Christ Community Baptist Church. He will be best remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather. Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, February 7, 2010 at the Lee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Wayne Neal officiating and Rev. Jack Maroon assisting. Burial will be in the Lee Memorial Park. Lee Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.Survivors include his wife, Mary Wright; two sons, Charles Wright, Jr. of Memphis, TN and Perry Wright (Patti) of Dumas, MS; one sister, Laura Blythe of Tupelo, MS; two brothers, Jack Wright of Mt Pleasant, MS, David Wright (Hilda) of Milford, CT; two grandchildren, Randy Wright (Jennifer), Karen Nan Rushing (Adam); two great-grandchildren, Gavin Rushing, Peyton Rushing; and several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years Lillian Wright; one sister Louise Wright Maroon of Belmont; one brother Robert M Wright of Fulton, MO; two nephews Alan Black and Robbie Wright.Pallbearers will be Sam Blythe, Tad Maroon, Mark Maroon, Brian Wright, Kevin Wright, Danny White, Tim White and Jerry Williams. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Joe Foley and Bryan Gillespie.Visitation will be today from 1:30 until service time today.
