Charles W. Owen, born January 9, 1938 in New Albany, Mississippi, died January 17, 2024 at the North  Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, surrounded by his wife, children, and step-children.
Charles worked for the Mississippi Forestry Commission for 40 years before retiring. He was a long time member of Oak Hill Methodist Church. He loved running, working in his yard, singing, and music.
Charles was proceeded in death by his father, Cecil Owen; his mother, Jewell Owen Hines; and his brother, Herman Owen.
He was survived by his wife, Georgia Bowen Owen; his daughter, Kenna Owen Hernandez (Hector); his son, John Kevan Owen (Shauna); Jana Manning Kidd (Jeff); Bridget Manning Stone; Andrea Manning Pongetti; and Andy Manning.
A memorial service will be held honoring Charles 3:00 pm, Sunday, January 21st at Monument Drive Baptist Church. Lee Memorial Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
