BrewerCharles O. Greer, 85, died Monday, June 11, 2012 at his daughter's residence in Senatobia. A Lee County native and longtime resident, he was born December 18, 1926, to Clyde Henry and Minnie Greer. During Word War II, he served his country in the US Navy. He was an active member of Brewer Baptist Church and loved to attend gospel singings. He enjoyed gardening, working in his shop, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and his little dog, Taco. He worked in construction, retiring from Tombigbee River Valley Water Management.
Services will be 11a.m. Wednesday at the Lee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tim Tutor officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park.
Survivors include his daughter, Risa Greer West (Sonny) of Senatobia; his daughter-in-law, Connie Greer of Brewer; three grandchildren, Carron Wooten (John) of Saltillo, Penney McCormick (Tim Griffin) of Nesbit, and Jason Greer (Ashley) of Brewer; six great-grandchildren, Andrew Burleson, Will Stanford, Wesley Stanford, Colton Greer, Shelton Wooten and Lance Wooten.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 65 years, Ruby Greer; his son, Donnie Greer; and two brothers, Claymon and Maylon.
Visitation will continue 10:00 - service time Wednesday. Memorials may be made to the Brewer Baptist Church Youth Fund
