Charles Creely, 91, passed away on Sunday, March 19, 2023, at his home. He was born July 23, 1931, in Corinth to Preston and Thelma Creely. He graduated from Amory High School and Mississippi State University where he earned his Masters Degree in Education. He was a career educator. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War and served with the Mississippi National Guard. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Amory, and volunteered for the American Red Cross. He loved and was proud of Mississippi State and enjoyed attending all Mississippi State Athletic events.

Services will be 2 Wednesday at Lee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Gayle Alexander and Rev. Allen Simpson officiating. Entombment will follow in the Chapel of Faith Mausoleum in Lee Memorial Park. Lee Memorial Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.

He is survived by his children, Mike Creely (Gayle) of Birmingham, AL, Charlotte Creely (Regina Boddy) of Biloxi and Vanessa Preston of Portland, OR; one sister, Mary Nell Creely Dorris of Amory; two grandchildren, Michele Free (Tony) and Jana Hathorn (Will) all of Birmingham, AL; six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary Creely; two brothers, George Thomas Creely and Gerald Scott Creely; an infant sister, Martha Etoile Creely.

Pallbearers will be Amy Blakeney, Christy Lann, Janice Lann, Marie May, Carrie Porter, Mary Stubblefield and Neice Wingard. Honorary Pallbearers will be the staff of Legacy Hospice of Amory.

Visitation will be 1 PM - 2 PM Wednesday.
