SaltilloCarolyn Watson, 76, died Tuesday, January 8, 2013, at the North Mississippi Medical Center after a brief illness. A native of Truman, Arkansas, she was born April 23, 1936 to Lex and Naomi Davis. She married John M. Watson on Dec. 6, 1952 and they lived in the St. Louis, Mo. area for many years. She worked as a supervisor and manager for several convenience stores. After retirement, she and her husband moved to Saltillo where they have resided for 25 years. Her family remembers her sharp wit and keen sense of humor as well as her enjoyment of quilting, watching game shows, and buying lottery tickets. She loved her family and the special times they shared.
Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at the Lee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with her son, Lexie Watson officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, John M. Watson of Saltillo; four children, Debra Carter (Bart) of Tupelo, Lexie Watson of Bowling Green, Mo., John Andrew Watson (Donna), and Sandra Kay Wiseman (Robert) all of Foley MO; her sister, June Walker of Missouri; a sister-in-law, Ruth Davis and a brother-in-law, Simp Parker; eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Virginia Parker and Frances Phillips and one brother, Troy Davis.
Pallbearers will be Calvin Shirley, John David Wiseman, Tyler Webb, Cameron Carter, Robert Wiseman, Delbert Padgett, and Larry Phillips.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 pm Thursday at the funeral home.
