Tupelo--Carolyn Bridges Catledge, 85, passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2013, at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo. She was born on April 24, 1928, to Arthur Columbus and Anna Myrtle McDade Bridges in Webster County, MS, and grew up in Sunflower County, attending school in Drew. She was a devoted wife, mother, homemaker, and friend and a resident of Tupelo and member of Calvary Baptist Church for 52 years.

Services will be 11:00 AM, Friday, July, 26, 2013, at Lee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. A private burial will follow.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, James R. Catledge, of Tupelo; her son, Greg Catledge (Sherrie) of Charlotte, NC; her daughter, Jo Catledge Staten, of Tupelo; step-grandson, Josh Rogers (Stephanie) and step-great-granddaughters, Annabelle and Sawyer of Manchester-by-the-Sea, MA; step-grandson, Casey Rogers (Courtney) and step-great-grandsons, Jake and Dylan of Charlotte, NC; a brother, James Bridges (Artis) of Greenville; a sister Jean Bridges Thomas (Charles) of Tutwiler; a sister-in-law, Billie Bridges; scores of nephews and nieces; and dear friends and caregivers, Sandra Wood, Loretta Porter, and Susan Unger.
In her final days she longed for the glorious reunion with loved ones gone on before. These include, in addition to her parents, her brothers Ewell Bridges, Arthur Bridges, and John Bridges, and sisters Francis Bridges Glass, Elizabeth Bridges Boyles, Ruth Bridges Simmons, and Sue Bridges Weatherby.
Pallbearers will be Bryan Bramlett, Pete Bridges, Danny Parks, Larry Parks, Tom Weatherby, and Rick Bridges. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Richard Hays and Steve White.
Memorials may be sent to Calvary Baptist Church, Hope Family Ministries, or Sanctuary Hospice House, all in Tupelo. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to service time Friday.
