NETTLETON - Brenda Lee Smart, 47, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, May 14, 2011. She was born May 14, 1964, in Sulligent, Ala., to Russell and Hazel Mayes. She was a member of Doty Chapel Baptist Church. She enjoyed fishing, working in the yard, her pets and cooking for her family, friends and for church gatherings. She was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed making things for her family. Her greatest joys were her husband, her children and her grandchildren.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Doty Chapel Baptist Church with Bro. Jim Manley and Bro. John Box officiating. Burial will be in Doty Chapel Cemetery. Lee Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include her husband, Marvin Smart of Nettleton; her children, Kimberly Choat (Daniel) of Tupelo, Joseph McBunch (Amber) of Hatley and her twins, Caleb Smart and Caitlin Smart both of the home; five grandchildren, Anna Kathryn Choat, Breanna Nichole McBunch, Peyton Elizabeth McBunch, Madilyn Grace Choat and Emma Kaylee McBunch; four sisters, Claudine Busby, Tonita Dawkins, Donna Bernard and Peggy Ryan; five brothers, Lonnie Plunkett Jr., Craig Plunkett, Kevin Plunkett, Randy Plunkett and Kenny Plunkett; her mother and father in law, David and Patsy Smart of Shannon; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Karen and Jeff Hall of Brandon, Keith and Mel Smart of Mooreville and Brad and Janet Smart of Tupelo; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Mike Bray, Tony Smart, James Oswalt, Evan Smart, Brad Smart, Sam Smart, Bryan Hall and Zach Ryan.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the church.
