OkolonaBonnie Sue Workman West, 72, died Thursday, November 29, 2012 at her home. She was born August 24, 1940, in Auto, West Virginia to Andrew Jackson Workman and Gladys Ellen Hansen Workman. She worked as a secretary for the Lee County Cooperative Extension for many years. A longtime member of Parkway Baptist Church in Tupelo, she taught the five year old Sunday School class for over 30 years. She was currently a member of First Baptist Church in Okolona. She enjoyed taking care of her dogs and cats. Her family remembers her as an avid story teller and a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother.
Services will be 3 p.m. Sunday at the Lee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Eric Boykin officiating. Private Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years, John West of Okolona; three children, William Timothy West (Lily) of Pontotoc, Sherri Lynn Lazore (Michael) and Johnie Sue Franks (James), all of Tupelo; four sisters, Betty Lewis, Linda Keene, Janice Page, and Pam Rizzo; three brothers, David Workman, Randy Workman, and Fred Workman; one half brother Andy Workman and one half sister Rachel Workman; five grandchildren, Will West, John West, Joshua Lazore, McKenna Franks and Maggie Franks.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Jackie Lane Workman,
Pallbearers will be Eddie Roberts, Junior Roberts, Charles Pannell, James Henry, Jackie Moore and Jimmy Kyle.
Visitation will be 1 p.m. to service time at the funeral home.
