Bess Bodie Toler, 100, passed away Monday, July 1, 2024 at Lifecare Center of Hickory Woods in Antioch, TN. She was born May 1, 1924 to James Samuel Bodie and Barzilla Hosey Bodie in Pearl River County, MS. She was a member of Harrisburg Baptist Church. She was the President of the Women's Literary Club of Tupelo,  the lakeside club in Manistee, MI. She was the Tupelo neighborhood cookie chairman for the prairie girl scout council. She worked with the hospital auxiliary at NMMC and also in Manistee, MI. She was an avid reader and member of the friends of the Lee County Library.

She is survived by daughters, Leigh Mason Bennett (Jim) and Julie Toler Brzezicki (Anthony); six grandchildren, Zach Mason, Ashley Mason Wallace, Malorie Mason Mitchell, Madison Mason Waldron, Gray Brzezicki, and Lily Brzezicki; thirteen great grandchildren; and one brother, James Samuel Bodie.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Beryl G. Toler and her parents.

A private service will be Saturday. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park. Lee Memorial Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
