Andy Lee Skelton, age 72, passed away Thursday, March 16, 2023 at his home in Tupelo. He was born in Aberdeen on January 13, 1951 to John Coleman Nash and Ida Stewart Nash. He was a member of Brewer Baptist Church, and he volunteered at the local Food Pantry, he participated in Neighbors Helping Neighbors, and worked on many mission projects throughout the years. He retired from Active Army National Guard after serving 15 years and retired from Lee County Schools, where he served as an ISS teacher at Guntown Middle School, after 16 years. He enjoyed woodworking and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Lisa Skelton of Tupelo; four daughters, Kelly Jernigan (Tim) of Pontotoc, Kim Moore of Carolina community, Amanda Robinson (Devin) of Columbus; Keri Murphy of Brewer community; four sons, Robert Skelton (Angie) of Tupelo, Richard Skelton (Paige) of Baldwyn, Michael Hendrik of Carolina community, Mark Murphy of Shannon; fifteen grandchildren; six great grandchildren; stepmother, Mary Elizabeth Botts Nash "Maw Mary"; two sisters, Angelique Brewer (Ron) of Aberdeen and Sharon Ross (David) of Muskogee, OK; special uncle, Otis Stewart (Billie Jean) of Tupelo; and Special Companion, Aspyn.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Johnny Nash; and sister, Nancy Knight.
Visitation will be 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm Sunday, March 19, 2023 at Lee Memorial Funeral Home. Graveside service will follow at 2:30 pm in Lee Memorial Park with Bro. Tim Tutor officiating. Lee Memorial Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital
Pallbearers will be Josh Brewer, Jason Knight, Nick Knight, Robert Godfrey, Jim Long, and Phil Poe. Honorary Pallbearers will be Johnny Ray Knight, David Ross, Ron Brewer, Charles Talley, Sonny Osburn, Eddie McPherson, and David Baskin.
