Guntown - Alvie Finney Lyons, 88, died Sunday, May 31, 2009 at the Sanctuary Hospice House. She was born May 30, 1931 in Itawamba County to Tobe Shields and Celie Shields Sheffield. She loved gardening, cooking, spending time with family and playing with her grandchildren. She attended Mayfield Church of Christ and formerly attended Second Baptist Church of Tupelo. She was retired from Reed's Manufacturing of Tupelo.Services will be 2 P.M. Wednesday, June 3, 2009 at Lee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Clyde Mize officiating. Burial will be in the Garden of Prayer in Lee Memorial Park.Survivors include her husband, James Lyons of Guntown; two daughters, Elizabeth Lamb and Myra Gray both of Tupelo; one son, Shelby (Evelyn) Lyons of Lee County; nine grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents, on daughter Geraldine Hutchinson and all of her brothers and sisters.Pallbearers will be Jamie Williams, Nathaniel Lamb, Daniel Lamb, David Lamb, Steven Lofton, Randy Lofton, Jason Cory and Rusty Lyons.Visitation will be from 5 - 8 Tuesday.click here.
