Obituary

Tupelo - Alfred M. Kidd, Jr., 90, died Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at Sanctuary Hospice House after a brief illness. He was born March 23, 1919 in Okolona to Alfred and Myrtle Kidd. He was a World War II Army Veteran attaining the rank of Sergeant. He was a member of First Christian Church in Tupelo and retired from the United States Postal Service. He was a 32 degree Mason, a professional photographer, an enthusiastic joke teller, a Red Cross Certified Life Guard and in the 1940's he was a Arthur Murray Dance Instructor in Chicago. He enjoyed reading and working crossword puzzles. He loved his family and friends.Services will be 11 AM Friday at Lee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Ray Morton officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park with Military Honors.Survivors include two daughters, Vicki Kidd and Lisa Henry both of Tupelo; three grandchildren, Justin Hall, Meredith Davidson (Ashley) and Laura Henry; three great-grandchildren, Carrington Davidson, Bailey Davidson and Collin Hall.He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 49 years Polly Kidd, a sister Frances Baker and a brother Howard (Bud) Kidd.Pallbearers will be Justin Hall, Jeremy Hall, Ashley Davidson, Paul Baker, John Fletcher Henry and Jerry McKee. Honorary Pallbearers will be Charles Poole, George Putnam, Jim Marsh and Cheryl Reiss.Visitation will be 5 - 8 Thursday and 10 - service time Friday.
